If we’re being real, an “Olympic size” really refers to “the dimensions or length prescribed for the Olympic Games and other major athletic competitions.” But popular culture has morphed this term to infer something is LARGE, VOLUMINOUS, and WORTHY OF A SECOND TAKE.

Through my time reading about and looking at art, I know there are a number of VOLUMINOUS pieces around town.

To honor the 2012 Olympic Games, let’s highlight the world’s largest, tallest and longest artwork (or Olympic-sized), thanks to Guinness World Records.

Fashion Tips for the Petite and not so Petite

Ist off is a Phillip Lim Silk Blazer, Use your tailor for more than just jeans. If something you love has a slight fit issue, consider your tailor’s abilities. Can this baggy skirt be taken in? These jacket sleeves be shortened? Once you start to see clothes for what they could look like-instead of how they appear on the rack-shopping will get easier. (And a lot more fun!)

Next stop is the Boys’ Cotton-Cashmere V-Neck Sweater, You should be going off what fits, not what a tag says. So, wear tunic tops as dresses if you’re under 5’4! Buy ankle jeans in lieu of regular length! Crop tops are really good for girls with short torsos and on some, midi skirts make great maxis. Also, if you are in 0-2 size range, try shopping in the little boys department at places like Brooks Brothers or J.Crew. Not only is it the best place to find menswear inspired pieces you won’t be swimming in, but everything costs less, too. True story. Wore it with cropped black pants and stilettos and felt like a walking Celine ad all day long.

3.  Eight Sixty Floral Printed Miniskirt,  funky yea but This is especially important with skirts. You don’t want to buy anything that hits right at the knee, which instantly frumpifies an outfit. When in doubt, go for the very short or very long-both will have a lengthening effect.

Next stop is a Prada Dégradé Peep Toe Pump…this shoe is off the chains,have a few good ones in your arsenal as Slightly too long pants and skirts can be saved in a pinch by the addition of high heels. Your closet should also be stocked with at least two belts-skinny and thick-for salvaging overly baggy dresses and tops lol just saying though.

and Finally we have a Vintage Floral Printed Silk Dress, Brands cut clothing much smaller in the mid-twentieth century than they do today, which makes thrift stores a treasure trove for petite gals. Of course, you’ll probably still have to get a few things altered, but, you have to do that anyways. So it might as well be for an amazing ’50s tea dress that no one else will have, right?

Gwyneth’s $90 White Tee

A great white tee is invaluable to your wardrobe… can you really put a price on a great white tee? Gwyneth Paltrow can. She made headlines last year with her suggested $18,000 spring wardrobe on her website Goop, and she’s done it again!  Gwyneth has co-designed, with Kain Label, a $90 white t-shirt.

Beneath the item description, they add, “This sophisticated embellishment to Kain’s trademark silhouette will wear well for day into night. We like to wear ours untucked.”

Great styling tips, guys. It looks a bit less worth the price on someone who is not Gwyneth:

Now, a white tee is an absolute fashion MUST. But I’ve rarely spent more than $20 on a white tee. My combination of clumsiness and three lovely, yet dirty children usually means they don’t last long! If I find one that is really great, I tend to buy two or three to stock up! Even if I found one that was amazing, I doubt I would get $90 worth of wear out of it!

What if instead I spent $90 on all this?

this post was hugely inspired by E! and i am hugely indebted to them for helping me with this post. this week we would look into 5 major summer trends and with the euro2012 competition and wimbledon in the bag already , i bet we are all looking forward to the olympics like me lol anyway we would kick off with

3D Nails

Im Jetting off on hols tomorrow and thought I would have a crack at the 3D nail look.

I stuck to a basic idea and went for this .

 

Nails and nail design is becoming an increasingly popular way to express ones self and I absolutely am obsessed with bows , I even have one tatoo on my wrist so loving this, usually they charge £3 a nail down my local nail shop.
